if you're getting married at one of the hotel chapels (and particularly if you're already staying there), your wedding coordinator should be able to make all the arrangements for you. If not, just call the relevant hotel and ask the question - I'm sure they'll be helpful. How do I go about planning a wedding reception in My hotel suite in Vegas. Does any place allow this?
Depends on how many guests, and how fancy the suite.
If you have guest overflowing into the hall, someone will complain and you have a problem. Ditto for loud music past 10 pm, some people do try to get some sleep - especially families with little ones.
If you get a very nice suite ie penthouse etc. It will have a sitting area with a couple of couches etc. These are because it is expected you may have visitors. A good rule of thumb would be you can have as many visitors as you have chairs. So 2 couches plus 4 side chairs only = 10 people. If you want to stretch it you can have 30% more people than chairs if you expect people to mingle around... still that is only 15 people. But generally the price of the penthouse includes some courtacy (looking the otherway) if you aren't following the rules perfectly.
Since you are in Vegas why not consider choosing a venue with a nice buffet and bar. Ask if you can get a group rate for the buffet, say it's for a family reunion. Then you can ';host'; 1 hour at the hotel bar for your guests.
Then move upstairs for the cake and visiting. Plan ahead to serve one type of alcoholic punch in the room, plus chips and nuts.
Cost to Host:
$15 per person for buffet
$15 per person for drinks
$50 cake
$50 Alcoholic punch, snacks etc.
10 people = $400
15 people = $550
20 people = $700
Congrats and Good Luck!
If you're doing something quiet and discreet, most hotels will not prohibit you from having visitors up to your room. You'd probably need to take care of everything yourself.... I'd suggest asking the hotels you're interested in.
