It varies from city to city, season to season, and even depends on where you book the hotel room.
In Winnipeg most hotel rooms go anywhere from $70 to $200 a night, depending on the location of the hotel, the size and quality of the room, the quality of service, and what time of year you travel. In Calgary you're probably looking at $100 to $300 a night for the same quality of room (except add $50 to $100 a night during the tourist season, and Calgary has a LOT more hotels - ten times more, I'd guess). It depends... you get what you pay for. I've stayed in rooms that cost $70 for a night, as well as others that are $250 for one night. In Winnipeg there is a h/motel on Regent called the red lion inn that is $60 for the night, it is decent.
