Aren't they the same the same thing? If not, what is the difference? Is there a difference between a hotel room and a hotel suite?
There is a difference. A hotel room consists of the bedroom, usually with a chair, TV and dresser and night stand, closet, bathroom/vanity and desk in many hotels. They oft times will offer a microwave, fridge and safe with a few other amenities.
A suite consists of a sitting room complete with wet bar, couches, TV etc. Then bedroom is separate and a bathroom/vanity, dressers, nightstands, TV etc, desk, some with Jacuzzis, safe etc... - other amenities depending on the * of your hotel.
Naturally depending on the type of hotel whether it is 1* up to 5* your rooms, as well as suites will vary. So if you like comfort you want no less than a 3* preferably a 4* but myself, I am a 5* client for hotels. Anything less than that you get what you pay for.Is there a difference between a hotel room and a hotel suite?
A hotel room is just that-- a room. A hotel suite, on the other hand, has more than one room, usually at least one bedroom and a living room, and some suites are even more elaborate than that, rather like an apartment, with a kitchen area, living room, more than one bedroom, etc. Hope this helps.
As you have seen, there is a difference. If you get a copy of the Dictionary for the Tourism Industry (from Amazon) these and many other tourism words are explained.
The travel and tourism industry has many words that need explaining to someone 'outside'.
